About the Role
The Ocean Freight Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to expand the company's ocean freight business across assigned territories or client segments. This involves building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets and revenue objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales plans and strategies for ocean freight services within defined markets or regions.
- Prospect for new clients and cultivate existing client relationships to maximize revenue and market share.
- Negotiate contracts and manage client accounts to ensure satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams (operations, marketing, customer service) to ensure seamless service delivery and support sales initiatives.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform sales strategy and maintain a competitive edge.
- Prepare and present sales reports and forecasts to senior management.
Requirements
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in sales management, preferably within the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation industry, with a strong focus on ocean freight.
