About the Role

You will be responsible for establishing and leading the xCode engineering function, focusing on the end-to-end development lifecycle of core software modules. This involves defining technical strategies, setting engineering standards, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the team. Your leadership will be crucial in navigating the complexities of developing software for highly sensitive and critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical vision and roadmap for the xCode function, ensuring alignment with HTX's strategic objectives.
  • Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering their professional growth and technical expertise.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development process, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of core software modules.
  • Ensure the highest standards of software quality, security, and reliability for mission-critical systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including product owners, security teams, and other engineering functions.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in software engineering methodologies and tools.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a senior engineering leader, preferably within a government or highly regulated environment.
  • Extensive background in software engineering, with deep expertise in developing and delivering complex, mission-critical systems.
  • Strong technical acumen and a passion for software craftsmanship and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Experience with secure development practices and an understanding of the unique challenges associated with sensitive systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.
