Description

Lonza is recruiting an Associate Manager, Engineering – Facility to join its operations team in Tuas, Singapore. This role is integral to maintaining the safety, reliability, and continuous performance of the site’s facilities, ensuring that infrastructure and equipment function optimally to support manufacturing activities.

Job Overview

  • Lead facility engineering operations, overseeing maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance strategies to minimise downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all facility systems.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to plan and execute capital improvement projects.
  • Monitor key performance indicators related to equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and maintenance staff.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for facility engineering initiatives.
  • Document procedures, work orders, and project outcomes for continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day‑to‑day running of building services, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety inspections, addressing identified hazards promptly.
  • Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to align facility support with operational demands.
  • Manage vendor relationships and procurement of spare parts and services.
  • Track maintenance activities using computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence through continuous training and process optimisation.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in facility or plant engineering, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a record of managing teams and complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and maintenance best practices.
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
