About the Role

The Commis Western Cuisine position is a key role within the culinary team, providing essential support to the Western cuisine section. This role involves contributing to the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes while adhering to strict food safety and hygiene standards. The successful candidate will play a vital part in maintaining the hotel's reputation for excellence in food service.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of Western cuisine dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment within the Western cuisine section, following all hygiene and sanitation protocols.
• Support the team in managing food production schedules and ensuring timely service during peak periods.
• Contribute to the maintenance of ingredient quality and inventory control within the Western cuisine area.
• Collaborate effectively with other kitchen sections and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or restaurant environment, preferably in Western cuisine.
• Formal culinary training or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of Western cooking techniques and flavour profiles.
• Ability to work efficiently and calmly under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
