About the Role

The Housekeeping Senior will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within the housekeeping department. This includes supervising housekeeping staff, ensuring rooms and public spaces meet stringent cleanliness and presentation standards, managing inventory and supplies, and addressing guest requests or concerns related to housekeeping promptly and professionally. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining a pristine environment for guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff, including room attendants and public area cleaners.
  • Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure they meet the hotel's cleanliness and presentation standards before, during, and after guest stays.
  • Manage housekeeping inventory, including linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
  • Assign tasks to housekeeping staff based on workload and priorities, ensuring efficient room turnover.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests related to housekeeping in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Conduct regular briefings and training sessions for housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and service standards.
  • Report any maintenance issues or deficiencies in housekeeping areas to the relevant departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional hospitality or housekeeping training is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within housekeeping or a related hospitality environment, preferably in a hotel setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the business.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
