General Technician

GE Vernova seeks a skilled General Technician to perform critical hand-skilled processes and operate machinery and test equipment essential for the repair and maintenance of gas turbine components. Reporting directly to the Operations Leader, the technician will contribute to the efficient execution of repair tasks while upholding stringent safety and quality standards.

About the Role

This position is pivotal in supporting the operational integrity of gas turbine systems. The technician will work collaboratively within a team environment, applying practical skills to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and verify the functionality of components using specialized equipment. Key Responsibilities

• Execute a variety of hand-skilled processes required for gas turbine component repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Operate and maintain machinery and test equipment used in the inspection, repair, and validation of gas turbine components.
• Perform detailed inspections and tests to identify defects, assess component condition, and determine necessary repair actions.
• Carry out repairs and modifications on gas turbine components following established procedures and technical specifications.
• Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate effectively with maintenance teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification in a relevant field preferred.
• Proven experience in mechanical repair, machining, or a similar hands-on technical role.
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating machinery and test equipment relevant to industrial maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to follow complex technical instructions accurately.
