About the Role

The TEPPAN CHEF/COOK will be responsible for preparing and cooking teppanyaki dishes directly on the grill in front of guests. This position requires precision, speed, and the ability to engage with customers while maintaining a high standard of food quality and presentation. You will work within a dynamic kitchen environment, collaborating with the culinary team to ensure smooth service and adherence to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and cook teppanyaki dishes (such as grilled meats, seafood, and vegetables) on the teppan grill for guests.
  • Ensure all dishes meet the company's quality standards and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the teppanyaki station.
  • Interact professionally with guests, explaining dishes and techniques while providing excellent service.
  • Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines consistently.
  • Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff to support overall restaurant operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a TEPPAN CHEF or in a similar cooking role, preferably in a teppanyaki or Japanese restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of teppanyaki cooking techniques and Japanese cuisine.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for guest interaction.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Relevant culinary training or education is advantageous.
