Ops-Tech System Engineer (Checkpoint Operations)

Business Edge is seeking a dedicated Ops-Tech System Engineer to join our team based in Singapore. This critical role involves deploying to our headquarters and being stationed on-site with operational units to deliver immediate technical expertise and support. The primary focus will be on managing and maintaining all systems across ICA land checkpoints, encompassing both ICT and non-ICT infrastructure, as well as specialized B&I (Biometrics & Identification) systems and associated platforms.

About the Role

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and reliability of our checkpoint systems. This position requires a proactive individual capable of working directly within operational environments to resolve technical issues swiftly and implement necessary system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site technical support and expertise to operational units at ICA land checkpoints.
• Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of all ICT and non-ICT systems deployed at checkpoints.
• Manage and support B&I (Biometrics & Identification) systems and associated platforms integral to checkpoint operations.
• Ensure the stability, security, and performance of all checkpoint-related technological infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal teams to implement system upgrades and address operational challenges.
• Document technical procedures and support processes for future reference and training.

Requirements

• Proven experience in system engineering, with a strong background in ICT and non-ICT infrastructure management.
• Experience supporting or managing systems within high-security or operational environments, such as border control or transportation hubs.
• Deep understanding of B&I (Biometrics & Identification) systems and related platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic on-site environment.
• Strong communication skills to liaise with operational staff and technical teams.
• Relevant technical certifications or qualifications in system administration or engineering.
