At the Ministry of Culture, Communityand Youth (MCCY), the Community Strategies and Insights (CSI) team within the Community Relations and Engagement Division plays a crucial role in advancing Singapore's national efforts to foster stronger social cohesion. This team is central to understanding and addressing the diverse needs and perspectives of Singapore's multi-racial and multi-ethnic communities, working to build bridges and enhance unity across different groups.
About the Role
The role involves contributing to the development and execution of community engagement strategies and insights initiatives. You will be part of a team dedicated to gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and feedback from various community segments to inform policy development and program design aimed at strengthening social bonds.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement methodologies for collecting and analyzing community insights and feedback.
- Analyze data and trends to identify key issues, opportunities, and emerging needs within diverse communities.
- Translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for policy and program development.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., policy teams, program managers) and external partners (e.g., community organizations, academic institutions) to gather perspectives and validate findings.
- Contribute to the design and evaluation of community engagement initiatives and programs.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and briefings to communicate insights and recommendations effectively.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as sociology, social work, psychology, public policy, statistics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in community engagement, social research, or policy analysis, preferably within a government or non-profit context.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into clear insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Experience working collaboratively in a team environment and building relationships with stakeholders.
- A genuine interest in understanding and promoting social cohesion and community well-being.
