About the Role
You will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, execution, and optimization of the company's credit portfolio and risk management framework. This includes developing and implementing robust credit policies, procedures, and controls aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. You will oversee the credit approval process, portfolio monitoring, and loss mitigation strategies, ensuring the organization maintains a strong credit rating and achieves its financial objectives. A key aspect of this role involves integrating and maximizing the use of advanced fintech solutions to improve credit assessment, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's credit strategy, setting clear objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) for credit operations.
- Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts and risk professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive credit policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks compliant with relevant regulations.
- Oversee the end-to-end credit approval process, including application review, risk assessment, and portfolio monitoring.
- Utilize and optimize fintech platforms and data analytics tools for enhanced credit decisioning, portfolio management, and reporting.
- Develop and implement strategies for portfolio growth while effectively managing credit risk and minimizing losses.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other departments (e.g., treasury, legal, compliance) to ensure alignment and support business objectives.
- Provide regular reporting and insights on credit portfolio performance, risk exposure, and mitigation actions.
Requirements
- At least 15+ years of progressive experience in financial services, specifically within banking, multi-finance, or fintech credit operations.
- Extensive leadership experience managing credit teams and credit portfolios in a complex, regulated environment.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective credit risk management strategies and policies.
- Strong understanding of fintech technologies and their application to credit processes and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A relevant bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
