Description

AstraZeneca is seeking a dedicated Medical Scientific Liaison (Breast Cancer) to join our team in Surabaya on a contract basis. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our scientific expertise and the needs of healthcare professionals, patients, and other key stakeholders within the Indonesian healthcare landscape. The successful candidate will leverage their deep understanding of breast cancer to provide accurate, evidence-based medical information and support the strategic goals of AstraZeneca's oncology portfolio.

About the Role

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) serves as the primary scientific resource for AstraZeneca's breast cancer products within the Surabaya region. This contract position involves building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals. The role requires translating complex scientific data into clear, actionable insights to support informed decision-making and enhance the understanding of AstraZeneca's therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including KOLs, healthcare providers, and relevant industry partners.
  • Provide accurate, balanced, and evidence-based medical information about AstraZeneca's breast cancer products to healthcare professionals.
  • Actively participate in and contribute to scientific discussions and educational events related to breast cancer management.
  • Monitor and interpret relevant scientific literature and market trends to ensure AstraZeneca's messaging remains current and scientifically sound.
  • Collaborate with regional medical affairs teams and marketing colleagues to support the effective launch and ongoing management of AstraZeneca's breast cancer portfolio.
  • Ensure all activities comply with applicable pharmaceutical legislation and AstraZeneca's internal policies.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Medical Science Liaison or similar scientific liaison role, preferably within oncology or breast cancer.
  • Strong understanding of the Indonesian healthcare system, regulatory environment, and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical sales and marketing within Indonesia.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Relevant academic qualifications (e.g., PhD, PharmD, MD) in a life sciences field.
