The United Nations in Indonesia operates through a collaborative partnership with the government, private sector, civil society, and youth to drive progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This role provides crucial support to the Economist and Development Coordination team, contributing to the effective implementation of development initiatives and economic analysis within the country.
About the Role
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within the United Nations development framework in Indonesia. The successful candidate will work directly with the Economist and Development Coordination unit, supporting core functions related to economic analysis, policy development, and the coordination of development projects aligned with national priorities and the SDGs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and synthesis of economic and development data and information.
- Support the preparation of reports, briefs, and other documentation related to economic analysis and development coordination.
- Contribute to the organization and execution of meetings, workshops, and events related to economic and development topics.
- Provide administrative and logistical support for the Economist and Development Coordination unit's activities.
- Assist in the research and documentation of best practices and lessons learned from development projects.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from, a bachelor's degree program in Economics, Development Studies, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in international development, economics, and the work of the United Nations.
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team and across different organizational units.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of Indonesian and/or English is essential.
