Randstad is collaborating witha leading financial services organization in Singapore to recruit a skilled Data Engineer who possesses a deep, practical understanding of asset management, investment data, and financial market information. About the Role

The position involves designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines that support sophisticated investment analytics and portfolio management processes. The successful candidate will work closely with portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, and other stakeholders to translate complex financial data into actionable insights. This role demands a strong grasp of both the business context of asset management and the technical expertise required to manage large‑scale, high‑velocity data environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Pipeline Development: Architect and implement scalable ETL/ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and store investment and market data from multiple sources.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of financial data assets.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance the performance of data queries and storage solutions to meet demanding latency requirements.
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross‑functional teams to define data models that align with investment strategies and reporting needs.
  • Automation & Tooling: Develop reusable scripts and tools to streamline repetitive data tasks and improve operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in building and maintaining data pipelines for financial or asset‑management use cases.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Scala and familiarity with big‑data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Solid understanding of relational and columnar databases, as well as data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands‑on experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and data‑quality frameworks.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a flexible, fast‑paced environment that values continuous learning and professional development.
