Quality Assurance Manager - Charcoal Briquette Manufacturer

The Quality Assurance Managerrole is based in Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah, Indonesia, supporting a well-established foreign-owned charcoal briquette manufacturing company. This position is pivotal in ensuring the consistent quality and safety of the company's production processes and final products. The successful candidate will lead the QA department, implementing and maintaining rigorous quality control standards across the manufacturing facility.

About the Role

This leadership position requires a proactive and experienced professional to oversee all aspects of quality assurance within the production environment. The manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving QA policies, procedures, and systems to meet stringent industry standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality assurance programs and procedures for the charcoal briquette production line.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality specifications and safety regulations.
• Lead and mentor a team of QA technicians and inspectors, providing training and guidance to ensure consistent application of quality standards.
• Analyze production data and quality metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Collaborate closely with production managers, engineers, and suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure all QA activities comply with relevant local and international quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; relevant industry experience may be considered.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in a quality assurance or quality control role within a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food or chemical sector.
• Extensive knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data to drive quality improvements.
• Understanding of charcoal production processes and the specific quality challenges associated with briquette manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
