At the Ministry ofCulture, Community and Youth (MCCY), the Community Strategies and Insights (CSI) team plays a crucial role in advancing Singapore's national efforts to build and maintain strong social cohesion. This position is embedded within the Community Relations and Engagement Division, where the team focuses on understanding the diverse needs, perspectives, and dynamics of Singapore's multi-ethnic and multi-racial communities. The core mission involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting community insights to inform the development of effective strategies and policies that foster unity, resilience, and a shared sense of belonging among all Singaporeans. **About the Role** The Assistant Director (Community Insights) will lead and contribute significantly to the CSI team's work. This role involves developing and implementing robust methodologies for collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data on community sentiments, social trends, and cohesion challenges. You will translate complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations for MCCY and other government agencies, ensuring community voices are effectively integrated into policy development and program design. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners is essential to ensure insights are relevant and impactful. **Key Responsibilities** * Develop and manage research projects to gather community insights on social cohesion, identity, and community well-being. * Analyze diverse data sources (surveys, focus groups, interviews, social media, existing reports) to identify trends, patterns, and emerging issues. * Synthesize complex findings into clear, concise reports and presentations for senior leadership and policymakers. * Provide strategic advice on leveraging community insights to inform policy decisions, program development, and resource allocation. * Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., policy, program, communications) and external partners (e.g., research institutions, community organizations) to ensure insights are utilized effectively. * Contribute to the development and refinement of the CSI team's research methodologies and frameworks. **Requirements** * A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as sociology, social work, psychology, public policy, communications, or a related social science. * Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role, involving community engagement, research, data analysis, or policy development. * Proven experience in designing and executing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. * Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations. * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively to diverse audiences. * Experience working in a government or public sector environment is highly desirable. * Excellent analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills. * A deep understanding of Singapore's social landscape and commitment to fostering social cohesion.
