In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for defining the strategic architecture and design of our data infrastructure, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure data foundations that seamlessly support our machine learning (ML) production pipelines. You will bridge the gap between complex data modeling requirements and practical ML enablement, crafting solutions that empower our data scientists and engineers to deliver impactful models efficiently.
About the Role
This position demands a blend of deep technical expertise in data architecture, proficiency in data modeling, and a strong understanding of ML workflows. You will lead the design and implementation of data systems that transform raw data into actionable insights, ensuring data quality, governance, and accessibility across the organization. Your work will directly influence the reliability and performance of our ML models in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and define the overall data architecture strategy, including data models, schemas, and integration patterns.
- Ensure the seamless flow of data from diverse sources through to production ML environments, focusing on reliability and performance.
- Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support ML model development and deployment.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, quality metrics, and security protocols.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data architects and engineers.
Requirements
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Data Architect or similar role, with a strong focus on data modeling and architecture.
- Deep understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, and modern data integration technologies.
- Experience designing and implementing data pipelines for ML and AI applications.
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices for ensuring data quality and security.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business requirements.
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
