Description
The Manager (Planning) within the Planning, Risk and Safety division at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) plays a pivotal role in shaping the institution's strategic direction and ensuring a secure operational environment. About the Role
This fixed-term position reports to the Head of Planning, Risk and Safety and involves leading a team responsible for comprehensive planning initiatives, conducting thorough risk assessments, and developing and enforcing safety policies and procedures. The manager will collaborate closely with academic, administrative, and operational departments to integrate planning, risk management, and safety considerations into all institutional activities and decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor strategic planning frameworks and operational plans aligned with SIT's institutional goals and strategic priorities.
- Lead the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks across academic programs, facilities, and administrative functions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop, review, and enforce comprehensive safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans to maintain a secure and compliant working and learning environment.
- Manage and mentor a team of planning, risk management, and safety professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance development.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of planning processes, risk controls, and safety measures to identify areas for enhancement and ensure continuous improvement.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and recommendations to senior management and relevant committees on planning initiatives, risk exposure, and safety performance.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in planning, risk management, or safety management, with demonstrable leadership in managing teams and projects.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing strategic plans, conducting risk assessments, and establishing safety protocols within a complex organizational environment.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate complex information into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus and influence across diverse groups.
- Knowledge of relevant planning methodologies, risk management frameworks, and occupational health and safety standards.
