Librarian (Resource Centre), Economics Division

We are seeking a dedicatedLibrarian to join our Resource Centre team within the Economics Division of the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Singapore. This role offers a significant opportunity to support the efficient operation of our library services and contribute meaningfully to the ongoing initiatives of our organisation. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring our library resources remain accessible, well-maintained, and effectively utilised by our staff and stakeholders.

About the Role

The Librarian will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of the Resource Centre's library functions. This includes assisting users in locating and accessing relevant materials, managing library collections, and contributing to the development and implementation of library services and programmes aligned with the Ministry's objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing expert assistance and reference services to library users, including staff members and external researchers.
• Managing and maintaining library collections, including cataloguing, processing, and ensuring materials are accurately shelved and accessible.
• Supporting the organisation of library events, workshops, and training sessions related to information literacy and resource utilisation.
• Assisting with the development and promotion of library resources and services to enhance their visibility and usage.
• Collaborating with colleagues across the Ministry to understand information needs and support research and operational requirements.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Studies or a related field.
• Proven experience working in a library or information management setting, ideally within a professional or government context.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide helpful and professional customer service.
• Proficiency in relevant library management systems and information retrieval tools.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and service delivery.
