Cherokee Federalis seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist IAT I to provide essential technical assistance to our client at Beale Air Force Base, California. This role is critical in maintaining the operational integrity of IT systems and ensuring seamless user experiences for personnel within a secure government environment. The position requires the successful candidate to be a U.S. citizen and hold an active Secret security clearance, as mandated by our governmental client.

About the Role

The Technical Support Specialist IAT I will serve as the primary point of contact for resolving technical issues encountered by end-users within the base's IT infrastructure. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. The specialist will also play a key role in implementing and maintaining IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide prompt and professional technical support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person assistance.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including system updates, software installations, and hardware repairs.
  • Document all support interactions, resolutions, and follow-up actions accurately in the ticketing system.
  • Assist in the implementation and testing of new IT systems, applications, and security measures.
  • Collaborate with other IT support teams and vendors to escalate complex issues and coordinate solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable security protocols and confidentiality requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Requires an active Secret security clearance.
  • Proven experience in providing technical support for IT systems, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), network fundamentals, and common software applications.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with shifting priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in IT, computer science, or related field preferred.
