The World Bank seeks a skilledInfrastructure Engineer to join the Digital Workplace Tech Solutions team in Jakarta. This role is pivotal in supporting the institution's mission to foster a productive, secure, and seamless digital environment for staff across its diverse regions, including ITS Region 1 (Asia), Region 2 (AFR, Europe, MENAAP), and Region 3 (Washington & LCR). The Infrastructure Engineer will contribute to building and maintaining robust technical foundations that empower World Bank employees globally.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and managing the infrastructure that underpins the Digital Workplace. This involves ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of systems that enable staff to collaborate effectively and access necessary resources securely. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality technical solutions that meet the evolving needs of the World Bank's workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, cloud services) supporting the Digital Workplace applications and services.
- Implement and enforce robust security protocols and best practices for infrastructure systems and data.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate infrastructure components into application deployments and updates.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
- Document infrastructure configurations, procedures, and technical specifications clearly and comprehensively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, system administration, or a similar role.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and scripting (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
