The Director, Event Management will be responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of all event management functions. You will drive the development and implementation of event strategies that align with Shangri-La's brand standards and enhance guest satisfaction. This role requires a visionary leader capable of managing complex events while fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

About the Role

You will lead a team dedicated to creating memorable events, from corporate gatherings to social celebrations. Your expertise will be crucial in managing event logistics, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring seamless execution. You will also play a key role in developing innovative event concepts that leverage our unique locations and facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies and operational plans.
  • Lead and mentor a team of event professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Manage all aspects of event logistics, including venue setup, vendor coordination, and guest experience.
  • Ensure events consistently meet Shangri-La's high standards of quality, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, sponsors, and partners.
  • Monitor event performance and provide actionable insights for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in event management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale events in a luxury hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Deep understanding of event planning, execution, and post-event analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
