Description

We are seeking a motivated professional touphold environmental public health standards through investigation and enforcement work at NEA's Central Regional Office. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and protecting public health within the community. You will be part of the Investigation and Enforcement Section, contributing directly to the Agency's mission of safeguarding the environment and public well-being.

About the Role

This position offers a challenging opportunity to work within a dynamic team dedicated to investigating environmental violations and enforcing regulatory standards. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of Singapore's environmental landscape by identifying non-compliance, gathering evidence, and supporting appropriate enforcement actions. The work involves direct interaction with the public, businesses, and regulatory partners, requiring a proactive and solution-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough investigations into suspected environmental violations and public health concerns.
  • Gather evidence, interview witnesses, and compile comprehensive reports for potential enforcement actions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of investigation strategies and protocols.
  • Provide expert advice and support to field officers and other stakeholders on regulatory matters.
  • Contribute to the preparation of cases for legal proceedings or administrative hearings.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all investigation activities and outcomes.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental investigation, enforcement, or compliance roles.
  • Proven ability to conduct independent investigations and analyze complex information.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and public health principles is advantageous.
