About the Role
The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) serves as the primary scientific resource for AstraZeneca's lung cancer portfolio within the Surabaya region. This contract-based position involves building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal stakeholders (such as medical affairs, marketing, and sales teams) and external stakeholders (including physicians, key opinion leaders, and other healthcare professionals). The MSL is responsible for translating complex scientific information into clear, actionable insights to support the adoption and appropriate use of AstraZeneca's lung cancer treatments.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary scientific liaison for AstraZeneca's lung cancer portfolio, providing accurate and balanced scientific information to healthcare professionals.
- Develop and nurture collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), physicians, and other relevant external stakeholders to facilitate knowledge exchange and support product understanding.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of scientific presentations, educational materials, and training programs focused on AstraZeneca's lung cancer therapies.
- Support internal teams (medical affairs, marketing, sales) by providing timely and relevant scientific insights and feedback from the external healthcare community.
- Ensure all activities and communications adhere to relevant pharmaceutical legislation and ethical guidelines governing medical information and promotion.
- Collaborate effectively within the regional and global medical affairs team to ensure consistent messaging and support for the lung cancer portfolio.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaison, or similar scientific liaison role, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry and focused on oncology or respiratory diseases.
- Deep understanding of the scientific principles and clinical data relevant to lung cancer therapies and treatments.
- Strong knowledge of legislation and ethical guidelines governing the promotion and communication of pharmaceutical products, particularly in the context of medical information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with diverse audiences, including physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise, and compelling messages for various stakeholders.
- Experience in developing and delivering scientific presentations and educational materials.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively within a dynamic environment.
