Network Operations Center Engineer (Marketplace) - Sea Labs

Shopee isseeking a dedicated Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join our Marketplace team in Jakarta. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of Shopee's core network infrastructure, servers, and services. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring the entire network ecosystem, proactively identifying potential issues, and providing timely Level 1 support to resolve operational incidents and maintain service availability for millions of users.

About the Role

The Network Operations Center Engineer will operate within a dynamic 24/7 NOC environment, focusing on the health and resilience of Shopee's network. Key responsibilities include:

• Continuously monitoring network performance, server health, and service availability across Shopee's infrastructure.
• Responding promptly to system alerts, graph anomalies, and log entries to diagnose and resolve Level 1 network and service issues.
• Collaborating with internal teams to investigate and mitigate network-related incidents, minimizing service disruption.
• Documenting all incidents, resolutions, and follow-up actions in the NOC ticketing system.
• Participating in on-call rotations to ensure round-the-clock network monitoring and support.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is the proactive and reactive management of Shopee's network operations. This encompasses:

• Monitoring network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers) and associated services for performance degradation or failure.
• Analyzing system alerts, performance graphs, and log data to identify root causes of network issues and implement effective solutions.
• Providing Level 1 technical support for network-related problems, escalating complex issues to higher levels as necessary.
• Ensuring adherence to established network monitoring protocols, SLAs, and operational procedures.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of network monitoring tools, processes, and documentation.

Requirements

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

• Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in network operations, NOC support, or a similar role within a high-availability environment.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), and switching technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, PRTG, SolarWinds) and SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk, ELK) is highly desirable.
• Ability to analyze complex system alerts and log data to diagnose network issues efficiently.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure during incident response.
• Strong communication skills to clearly articulate technical issues and resolutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Flexibility to work within a 24/7 on-call schedule.
