The Research & Development R&DManager will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and strategic growth for a rapidly expanding fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company specializing in frozen and chilled food products. Based in either Surabaya or Bekasi, Indonesia, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of the brand's product portfolio and operational excellence within the competitive Indonesian market. The role demands a strategic leader capable of navigating complex R&D processes while fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams to deliver market-leading solutions.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead the end-to-end Research & Development process, from concept ideation through to successful product launch and post-launch optimization.
* Develop and execute comprehensive R&D strategies aligned with the company's long-term growth objectives and market positioning.
* Manage and mentor a team of R&D professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.
* Oversee the development of new product concepts, ensuring they meet stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and cost targets.
* Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to translate market insights and consumer needs into viable R&D projects.
* Implement robust quality control and assurance protocols throughout the product development lifecycle.
* Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure timely delivery of R&D milestones.
**Requirements:**
* Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline; an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) is advantageous.
* Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in R&D, with significant leadership experience managing R&D teams within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector.
* Proven track record of successfully leading the development and launch of new food products, demonstrating expertise in formulation, process optimization, and quality management.
* Strong strategic thinking and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide technical teams towards achieving ambitious goals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse departments.
* Demonstrated understanding of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and quality management systems.
* Experience with project management methodologies and tools is essential.
