Springfield School, a leading international school operating four campuses and serving more than 2,000 students across Jakarta, is seeking a full‑time IGCSE English Teacher to teach Grades 9 and 10. Position Overview

The appointed teacher will plan and deliver high‑quality lessons that follow the IGCSE English curriculum, promoting strong reading, writing and communication competencies among secondary learners. Responsibilities include designing engaging classroom activities, integrating digital resources, and providing timely feedback that supports each student’s academic growth and confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans that align with IGCSE English syllabus objectives for Grades 9 and 10.
  • Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that encourage analytical thinking and literary appreciation.
  • Assess student work through formative and summative evaluations, offering constructive feedback.
  • Develop and adapt teaching materials, including presentations, worksheets and multimedia resources.
  • Integrate appropriate technology to enhance learning experiences and accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades and progress reports for each student.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, department heads and school leadership to ensure curriculum consistency.
  • Participate in professional development sessions and school initiatives that promote educational innovation.
  • Contribute to extracurricular programs, such as debate clubs or reading circles, when required.
  • Provide support for whole‑school events, including parent‑teacher meetings and academic competitions.
  • Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child‑protection policies in all classroom interactions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A recognized teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS or an equivalent credential.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching IGCSE English to secondary school students.
  • Strong command of the English language and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive, supportive and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Commitment to the values, ethos and high academic standards of an international school.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of varied learner profiles.
  • Proficiency in using educational software and digital platforms for instruction and assessment.
  • Willingness to engage in continuous professional learning and reflective practice.
