About the Role
The role focuses on shaping the regulatory approach to sustainability disclosures within the investment schemes sector. Key activities include:
- Engaging with international bodies like the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) and domestic regulators to understand and influence global disclosure standards.
- Developing and implementing regulatory frameworks and guidelines for sustainability reporting by investment schemes operating in Singapore.
- Collaborating with MAS divisions and other government agencies to ensure alignment between disclosure requirements and broader financial stability objectives.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and advising on the implications for Singapore's investment schemes market.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including industry participants, investors, and international counterparts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and review of regulatory policies and guidelines related to sustainability disclosures for investment schemes.
- Represent MAS in domestic and international forums, contributing expertise on disclosure requirements and market practices.
- Analyze and interpret complex regulatory and international standards to assess their impact on Singapore's investment schemes.
- Develop strategies to enhance the consistency, transparency, and comparability of sustainability disclosures across the investment schemes sector.
- Provide expert advice and support to MAS management and other departments on regulatory matters concerning investment schemes disclosures.
- Manage projects related to the implementation of new disclosure requirements or the enhancement of existing frameworks.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in finance, law, economics, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience (minimum 8-10 years) in a senior regulatory, compliance, or policy role within the financial services sector, with a strong focus on investment schemes, securities regulation, or financial reporting.
- Proven expertise in international regulatory frameworks, particularly those related to sustainability disclosures and financial reporting standards.
- Deep understanding of the regulatory environment in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, with the capacity to build consensus among diverse parties.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
