Description

The Maritime andPort Authority of Singapore (MPA) seeks a highly skilled Engineer/Senior Engineer (BID) to lead critical aspects of its building and infrastructure projects. This role involves spearheading the planning, tender calling, and design review processes for consultancy and construction contracts, ensuring projects align with MPA's strategic objectives and regulatory standards. You will provide expert oversight and guidance to a team of consultants and contractors, driving the successful delivery of complex maritime infrastructure developments.

About the Role

  • Lead the planning, tender calling, and design review phases for consultancy and construction contracts.
  • Provide expert supervision and guidance to a team of consultants and contractors.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of MPA's building and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets for assigned building and infrastructure initiatives.
  • Prepare and issue tender documents, manage the tender evaluation process, and negotiate contract terms.
  • Conduct thorough design reviews and technical assessments of consultant and contractor deliverables.
  • Supervise construction activities, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Prepare and present project reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in building and infrastructure project management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven expertise in planning, tendering, design review, and construction supervision for complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
