About the Role

You will be instrumental in bridging the gap between AstraZeneca's scientific discoveries and the medical community. This involves developing and executing scientific strategies that support the lifecycle of our lung cancer portfolio, ensuring our insights are evidence-based and aligned with evolving clinical guidelines. Your work will directly influence how our innovative medicines are understood, adopted, and utilized to benefit patients globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scientific strategies for assigned lung cancer products, ensuring alignment with AstraZeneca's global medical strategy.
  • Provide expert medical and scientific support to internal stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and regulatory affairs, to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and academic institutions, to foster scientific dialogue and understanding of our therapeutic areas.
  • Contribute to the preparation and delivery of scientific presentations, publications, and educational materials for both internal and external audiences.
  • Monitor and interpret emerging scientific data and clinical trial results relevant to lung cancer, translating complex information into actionable insights.
  • Support the management of key opinion leader relationships and scientific advisory boards within the assigned territory.

Requirements

  • A graduate degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in a life sciences field, with a strong focus on oncology or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience (minimum 3-5 years) in Medical Affairs, specifically within the oncology therapeutic area, with a demonstrated track record in scientific strategy development.
  • Deep understanding of the scientific and clinical landscape of lung cancer, including current treatment paradigms and emerging therapies.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a matrixed environment and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with the ability to translate data into compelling scientific narratives.
  • Experience with medical writing and publication support is advantageous.
