Senior Mechanical Engineer

Beca is seekinga Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and develop our mechanical engineering capabilities within the Jakarta office. This is a pivotal leadership position where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of our mechanical projects and team in Indonesia. You will take ownership of key project deliveries, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to project timelines and budgets. Beyond project execution, you will play a crucial role in fostering the growth of our engineers through effective mentorship and knowledge sharing, building a stronger, more capable team. Collaboration with our regional and global teams will be essential to leverage best practices and deliver integrated solutions across our diverse portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex mechanical engineering projects from inception through to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level mechanical engineers, fostering their professional development and enhancing team capability.
• Collaborate effectively with project managers, other engineering disciplines, and regional/global teams to integrate mechanical solutions into broader project strategies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of mechanical engineering standards, processes, and best practices within the Jakarta office.
• Engage in client and stakeholder communication, presenting technical solutions and project progress clearly and professionally.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a strong track record in project delivery.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical challenges within project constraints.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for collaboration and client interaction.
• Relevant engineering degree (e.g., Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering) and membership in a professional engineering body (e.g., IEM).
