Aswift is seeking aCredit Control Manager to lead the receivables, collections, and credit risk functions within our dynamic logistics division based in Shah Alam, Selangor. This critical role is fundamental to ensuring robust cash flow, minimizing the risk of bad debt, and providing essential support to our commercial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end credit process, from customer onboarding and credit assessment to the resolution of outstanding balances and the implementation of effective credit policies.

About the Role

The Credit Control Manager will oversee the credit control department, developing and implementing strategies to optimize cash collection while safeguarding the company's financial health. This involves establishing clear credit limits, conducting thorough credit checks, monitoring customer payment behavior, and proactively managing collections to ensure timely settlement of invoices. The role requires a strong focus on risk mitigation and maintaining positive customer relationships throughout the collection process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the receivables and collections team to achieve high collection efficiency and minimize bad debt exposure.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive credit policies and procedures aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular credit assessments and reviews for existing and potential customers to mitigate credit risk.
  • Monitor customer payment performance, identify potential payment issues early, and implement appropriate recovery strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, procurement, and commercial teams to support customer relationships and ensure smooth commercial operations.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports related to receivables, collections performance, and credit risk exposure.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cash flow and reduce outstanding balances through effective credit management practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in credit control, receivables management, or a similar financial control role within a logistics, manufacturing, or B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing collections, negotiating payment plans, and resolving complex customer payment disputes.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk assessment methodologies and the ability to implement effective credit policies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify trends impacting cash flow.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers at all levels and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meet challenging collection targets.
  • Relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related field are advantageous.
